【摘要】:1.1Thisspecificationcovershot-wrought,specialqualitymicroalloyedcarbonsteelbarsintendedforuseashotforgingstock.Thebarsshallbehot-wrought,as-wrought,unlessthermaltreatmentisnecessarytoensurecoldshearability.1.2Thebarsshallbefurnishedtochemicalcompositiononly.Chemicalcompositionisbasedonstandardcarbonsteelgradesmodifiedtoincludemicroalloyingelementssuchascolumbium(niobium),vanadium,ormolybdenum.Desiredmechanicalpropertiesaredevelopedinthesubsequenthotforgingandcontrolledcoolingoperations.1.3SectionsandsizesofbarsteelavailablearecoveredinSpecificationA29/A29M.1.4SupplementaryrequirementsS1toS6areprovidedforusewhenadditionalcontrolsorrequirementsaredesired.Theseshallapplyonlywhenspecifiedonthepurchaseorder.1.5Thevaluesstatedineitherinch-poundunitsorSIunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Withinthetextandtables,SIunitsareshowninbrackets.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemarenotexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemmustbeusedindependentlyoftheother.Combiningvaluesfromthetwosystemsmayresultinnonconformancewiththespecification.1.6Unlesstheorderspecifiestheapplicable"M"specificationdesignation,thematerialshallbefurnishedtotheinch-poundunits.
